A Metric President

Crude oil production will attain the highest annual average production in U.S. history in 2018.

The forecast

This is probably also a “first” in modern United States History. We truly have a “Metric President”.

If Ms. Clinton had attained the presidency we would have had a “Narrative President” perhaps a bit worse than Trump’s predecessor.  Speaking of breaking through glass ceilings provides a warm feeling akin to being seated in front of a crackling fireplace.  But it is just that: a crackle.

Narrative-driven presidencies of the past have provided us with socio-cultural shifts without the addition of wealth for vast demographics of American citizens.  Crackle.

A Metric President plans his day based on tables and graphs, flow charts, projections, and benchmarks.  And everything he does – is based on a need to set mathematical records and shift algorithms into high gear.

Break it down.

DACA, building the wall, removing TPS for Haitians and El Salvadorans is not about a narrative. It comes down to a metric.

When the government shuts down today this is also about a metric and not a narrative.  Allow our POTUS to work. Have the patience to understand that Mr. Trump is not a man who crackles. He is a man who roars.
